Sunny Hills High School (Fullerton 92833)  Established in 1959, Sunny Hills High School (SHHS) has forged a long-standing reputation for providing students academically rigorous curricula that successfully prepares them for post-secondary education. Sunny Hills High School is located on thirty-nine acres of rolling hills in northwest Fullerton.

Sunny Hills High School is a combined public and magnet school located in Fullerton, California, USA. It is part of the Fullerton Joint Union High School District.

  • SHHS has been an International Baccalaureate World School since 1987, and hosts the largest IB program in California.
  • It has been recognized twice as a California Distinguished School, in 1988 and 1994, and recognized as one of the top high schools in the United States in March 30, 1998, March 13, 2000, and June in Newsweek Magazine.
  • At 284 in the magazine’s latest (2007) rankings of public high schools, Sunny Hills remains in the top 1 percent of schools in the country.

The surrounding attendance area, which includes parts of the cities of Fullerton and Buena Park, consists of upper-middle class homes comprised of educated, success-oriented, multicultural families. Sunny Hills High School receives students from four component elementary school Districts – predominantly from the Fullerton School District and the Buena Park School District, with some students coming through District open enrollment from the Lowell Joint and La Habra City School Districts.
